Janet (she/her/hers) holds a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University, and a B.A. in Psychology and Computer Science from Boston University. Janet’s related experience includes work as a sexuality educator, pastoral care lay minister, counselor at an acute psychiatric in-patient unit, and facilitator of nonviolence programs in a medium security prison.
Janet believes that each person has an innate capacity to heal and grow. She enjoys facilitating that natural process by creating a sense of safety, open curiosity, and warm acceptance with her clients, to discover what’s getting in the way of experiencing a more fulfilling, meaningful, and empowered life. She draws on modalities that include CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, and somatic psychotherapies.
